World Information: A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, there was an evil Galactic Empire and a band of scrappy rebels who were trying to stop them. Hera is originally from Ryloth, is currently based on Yavin IV and is currently very concerned with liberating Lothal

Personality: Hera is often known as Space Mom and the title fits rather well. She is warm and loving to those around her and fiercely protective against outside threats.

Hera regards her crew as family. She supports them in finding their way through the countless crises that come with the rebel territory. She’s very patient in getting everyone back on track and always there to listen to her people. People who mess with her crew (including the murderous droid, he’s been there longer than the organics!) bring out a very ferocious side in her. She’s a formidable opponent to the Empire at the best of times but she’s nigh on unstoppable if they’re trying to harm her family.

While Hera loves her ridiculous children, that doesn’t mean she’s going to put up with nonsense. She’s incredibly sensible to the point that they have to find reasons to sideline her to make some of the more slapstick episodes actually work. She expects those under her command to pull their weight and carry out their responsibilities to the ship and the mission. Anyone who endangers the rest of the crew by not thinking a plan through is in for a serious dose of not mad, just disappointed.

She is incredibly devoted to the rebel cause. She will never stop fighting for a better galaxy and has a knack for rallying others to join despite strong reservations. That said, she doesn’t approve of some of the more brutal tactics used in other factions within the Rebel Alliance. She has no qualms with spilling Imperial blood but is cautious about potential bystanders. She’s here to free the people and she can’t do that if they get caught in the blast.

Hera loves flying. That was the childhood dream that caused her to leave her homeworld. It was only later that she realized she could use those abilities to help others in need.

Key themes: Hope- Rebels takes place during the dark early days of the Rebellion but Hera never stops believing that the galaxy can be a better place if people are ready to fight for it

Belief- Specifically, believing in a cause that’s bigger than oneself

Main Motivation: Hera wants to free the galaxy. She’s not content to settle for one world when the same situation repeats over and over. Removed from her own galaxy she will have to settle for putting a stop to any suffering she happens upon along the way.

Skills: Flying- Hera is an incredibly talented pilot, attracting the attention of Grand Admiral Thrawn and mastering experimental craft.
Mechanic- Once upon a time she had the whole ship to herself and that meant all the maintenance
Infiltration- Rebels often have to go undercover and Hera is very adept at rapidly changing plans
Ground combat- While primarily a pilot, Hera is more than capable with a blaster on the ground
